My very first blog post (and blog) EVER! Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog :) My name is Tammy, and I have been scrapbooking for about a year. I am an avid reader of other peoples blogs, and decided maybe it was time to show a little of what I craft to the rest of the world (or family members who I send links too lol). I would also love to one day be on a design team, and I know that having a blog is a requirement.
I really thought I didn't have a SINGLE crafty bone in my body - but have spent 10 years admiring the amazing crafties my mother-in-law (MIL) has been doing. 'One Day' I decided to make an album (it turned into two) for my MIL for her birthday (she has made me BEAUTIFUL gifts, and I thought how she deserved to have memorable gifts to keep of her grandchildern). I would borrow supplies (I seriously had like a packet of textas - borrowed from my VERY crafty Miss 6, and some embroidery cotton from a misguided attempt at cross-stitching) from my MIL, and give various reasons as to why I needed them. Once I got into the swing of it.. well the buying began (just ask my husband, Bowbear). And I think anyone reading this would know what happens once you begin the buying..
And so it began..
I am ABSOLUTELY in love with scrapbooking! I have a 6 foot tressle table in the lounge room (as does Miss 6!), and an overpacked bookcase of supplies. When Master 2 has his day nap, I craft. When the kids go to bed, I craft. When my kids are wrestling with Bowbear and are occupied, I craft. When I can't sleep in the middle of the night, I cyber-craft on my Iphone, admiring everyone else's crafts. It is amazing to have a hobby that you enjoy so much! (Which I am sure anyone reading this understands about scrapbooking... except maybe Bowbear... honey, liken it to playing World of Warcraft). At night I set up on my table, and my husband and I chat while we go about our hobbies. Me, on the 6 foot table, overspilling onto the floor, and occasionally, such as when making roses and they need to be held in place as they dry, it extends to Bowbear's free hand. Bowbear sets up on the foot square lot of space I allocate at the end of the table for the laptop, and is so incredibly helpful as I ask him 50 times a night 'how does this look?'. And in return, I admire World of Warcraft computer game swords and weapons and ... goblin-y things.. And so we spend each night together, while the kids sleep, and we enjoy our hobby time together :)
I feel very blessed to have my beautfiul Bowbear, and our two beautiful kids (who are being tucked into bed this very moment!). And I feel very blessed that my MIL started scrapbooking - and after many years I finally realised what I was missing out on! Over the next few weeks (this is going to be a slow blog! im a newbie ) I will post crafties I have made, and try to make sure I can link them to all of the tutorials and inspiration I have found online. Including the 2 albums that started it all! Even in 12 months my scrapbook style has changed so much! (However, so has my scrapbook supplies and collections.....). And eventually - when I feel brave - I will connect it to Google, and actually hand out the link to someone other than my darling Bowbear.
So, under the guise that one day other people will be reading this, thanks for looking!!
Tam
